Post here what YOU are dying to have to eat here in this thread. I have been craving something myself and thought to myself "I wonder what others are craving too"? So, let's hear what your pallette is craving for!

To start with, what I have been craving for is something I have not had for YEARS and my sister and I are trying to find it. We want some. Our mom used to get it for us and we would have it on toast, sprinkled with a bit of paprika.. It was SO good. A comfort food for us. We have looked and looked and I can't even find it on the web. I don't know if I will EVER get to have some again. It's called Snow's brand Welsh Rarebit. I can't get a line on it at all but a footnote on a page I found that just commented that for a particular recipe they would prefer to use Snow's Rarebit.. but it was not available on the west coast. I really fear I shall never taste Snow's Welsh Rarebit ever again. This is bumming me out seriously.

I wonder if JohnWho can produce me a new button?  thumbup.gif

I haven't had pizza in three years and last night out of the blue I had this craving for it, time for a pizza fix! thumbup.gif
The Colonel
Toasted cheese and Marmite sandwich.

[Marmite=beef extract comes in small jar and is black and very gooey. I add this because maybe it is available in U.S.A., maybe not. I don't know and a genius knows most things, but not everything etc.]

Not the rarebit you are looking for though, I hasten to add.

I'm suffering for bread pudding with cranberries..... eight more days.
I'm the one who makes it and they won't allow me a test batch.

With the weather getting colder around here I'd sure like to have some good old fashioned homemade vegtable. I usually make 3 to 4 big kettles full in the fall each year and put it in freezer containers, homemade soup anytime you want all winter. I seem to have gotten behind this year and since I'm craving it now it would be a good time to get it made! Yumm

The warmer weather (or such as we deem it this week) demanded I make potato salad yesterday. Ah! so good.

Right now I'm craving some poutzin? (unsure of spelling). It's a Canadian thing with frenchfries, gravy, and a cheese made in Canada called curds. It's terrible when it comes to your health, but it's so good!

Hot and sour soup!! I always want that, I could just about eat my weight in that stuff.

Anyone got a good recipe for it? Everytime I try a new recipe for it its always missing some "ancient chinese secret" and it doesn't turn out right.

Have you tried all these,Vicki? thumbup2.gif

Authentic Greek Baklava!! Wow, I'd love to have some right now. Ken had a friend that worked with him and his mother came here from Greece. Could she ever cook!! Ken brought me home a piece of the Baklava that she had sent in to work for them one day and it just melted in your mouth. I had a birthday coming up and asked her if she'd make me baklava if I bought the ingredients (it can be expensive to make) She ended up presenting me with a 9 x 13 pan full of baklava plus some extra syrup in case it should dry out. I froze the syrup and some of the baklava (it's too rich to eat the whole pan at once darn it) and ate on it for 2 months!! I'd love to have some more but Ken's friend isn't there anymore and we've lost track of him. Help!! Anyone have a recipe for the real deal?? There's alot of imitations out there but you can't beat the real thing!!

Miss Millie's chicken with chicken gravy.

Cabbage rolls - the old fashioned way an elderly Mennonite neighbour used to make them. And great fat 'sticky buns', dripping with melted brown sugar and butter, the way my Mother used to make them.

Oh dod, this thread is seriously making me hungry, especially since I've missed breakfast and lunch today!

A really good clam chowder - luv it!

White or red?

Mara - I have to confess I don't know! crazy.gif It's just that travelling along the great coastal road in Victoria, some years ago, we came to a small fisherman's type cafe and pulled in for a meal break. On the menu was "Clam Chowder" - never having had it before I tried it - delicious!! Oh, yes, well it WAS white, almost milky - does fit the bill? If so, what is the magic ingredient of 'red'?? I love seafood of all kinds, but this was a new experience, hard to repeat as I don't get to visit the coast too much these days. angry.gif

Curry sauce on chips. I can't have any because I am ill and food will make me worse. I rarely lose my appetite when I am ill.

Changing the 'What' to 'Who' in the thread title should 'spice' things up. wink.gif
