I looked for an answer before I asked ( give me credit for trying) but... I need help again.
How are you all posting pictures that don't have a url? Like photos?
Sorry to bother you all again.
dc3
You will need to set up an account with a free host site like Photobucket.
.

Once you have your account click on the Browse button, My Pictures in Windows XP will open, click on the photo that you want and then click open, and then click on Upload. This will take several minutes on a dial up connection.

Once the picture is uploaded you will see a check box in the left hand corner under each image, click in the box of the photo that you want, a red outline will appear around the picture indicating that it has been selected.

At the bottom of that page you will see Tag Selected - Delete Selected - Move Selected - Generate HTML and IMG code, click on Generate HTML and IMG code.

Another page will open with the code choices to post photos in different applications, if you are going to post a photo here at ThoughtVent you will want to use the IMG clickable thumbnails for message boards - recommended. Inside that box will be the code that you will need, click on it to highlight it, copy the highlighted code and paste this in the post where you wish it to appear.

I hope this helps.

Moderator note
Since many other Members may have the same question, I have moved this thread to the Questions forum so DC3's instructions could be readily available.
Many Members use dial up connexions, so it is a courtesy to crop the original picture where possible, and to keep the number of links in one particular post within reason.

Sorry I'll do better

Not to worry Vicki: the comments were certainly not aimed at you, but were just made in a general sense for any Member wanting to share photographs. Loading a 65Kb file is a lot different than loading a 468KB picture, and loading a post with ten links can be a real problem for some folks here.
I think most Members enjoy seeing other's pics; I know I do.

Love seeing photos and thanks so much for sharing with us! (It's not a "bad" picture at all!)
