... They ALL resent us being there, That statement is incorrect. Please provide some authoritative links that show that ALL of "they" resent us being there. Even our liberal MSM doesn't claim that All of the people in Iraq resent us being there. -------------------- |

I believe we should bring the soldiers home. It's devastating enough to the families to see their own dying without a sneak peak at any kind of victory. It's obviously not gonna be soon. This is the tech era...how threatened do we REALLY feel by these nations, if anything we are boosting their morale even more to go kick our butts. Soldiers with no 'institutionalized' training are actually giving us quite a fight. The thing is...nobody knows why. The reason has been completely evaded by everyone from top to bottom. This is obviously some kind of play by the powers that be for something that eludes us. I would hate for the truth to come out in one of those heavy history books a century from now. I hope that we can pause this little game in time to assess, control, and repair. Diplomacy is definitely out of the question to some extent..too much damage has been inflicted by all parties. Everyone's gonna have to give a lot a take little, in order for the world to be semi-peaceful again. But, if everyone wants to take and not give or offer...things are bound to get worse...

That statement is incorrect. Please provide some authoritative links that show that ALL of "they" resent us being there. Even our liberal MSM doesn't claim that All of the people in Iraq resent us being there. Your right.., I should have been more specific. Let me rephrase that; Every country in the region resents us being there (including Kuwait). Even the overwhelming majority of Iraqis resent what we have done to thier country. In comparison; Find a family in the desert, kill the parents, leave the children to fend for themselves. Come back a couple days later with food and water. Will the chidren except the food and water (just so they can live)..? My guess is, probably. But over time, will they embrace you as being "The Good Guys".... We have killed hundreds of thousands of innocent HUMAN BEINGS in Iraq alone (i.e. Mothers, Fathers, Daughters, and Sons).. Excepting our help right now is one thing, but, to even suggest they want us there, is putting one hell of a spin on the situation. Yes, they are accepting of our support RIGHT NOW... But inevitably, their true sentiment will make its way to the surface.. Undoubtably, this blunder will come back to haunt us. The effort we're putting in to rebuilding the country (we destroyed) will mean nothing to them.. We can kill them all, or get the hell out..! As somewhat of a Humanitarian, I opt for the latter....... Besides, there are many ways we can support the restabilization of Iraq without occupying the country and putting American Soldiers at risk. Hmmm.., Sounds like an excellent topic for discussion. By the way, our liberal MSM are nothing more than armchair quarterbacks., They need to get in the game, or shut their useless pie holes...!! Oops, did that sound angry, I kid the liberals.., really, I have nothing but love for the whole bunch... LOL... |

How do we wrest our Nation from the military complex? We spend almost a 1/2 trillion dollars a year to support our military in aproximately 160 countries. Do we no longer want the role of Leader of The Free World the world's policemen? I believe that we should bring all soldiers home immediately b/c we lost the day the administration trumped up the intelligence to invade. Most of the world community felt we were wrong & it turns out we were. Now you're starting to see contradictory evidence about Iran's nuclear program by the NIE (a bipartisan, nationally accepted, highly credible report) that Iran abandoned its nuclear weapons program in 2003. Just a few weeks ago you heard irresponsible & volatile remarks like "World War III" & "regional domination" uttered by Bush in speeches. We need to wake up and reign this cowboy under control. He's not only making himself look more stupid almost daily, now he's damaging even more, the already poor US credibility image, in the world community.

How do we bring the troops home? How do we end the war? Do we change the focus to one of a police action or what? How do we wrest our Nation from the military complex? We spend almost a 1/2 trillion dollars a year to support our military in aproximately 160 countries. Do we no longer want the role of Leader of The Free World the world's policemen? We police what democracies are acceptable, we police what relationships are appropriate, we police who can do business with whom, we basically decide who is good and who is evil. With all due respect i'm listening Jo4Peace First, let me start by saying; The quote you pasted on your reply was in refference to the statement "No one knows why".. I think most people have a good idea that when it comes down to it, it's all about oil (bottom line)..... However, I do have some ideas concerning your questions: Q; How do we bring our troops home? A; Create safe zones specifically for departing flights; 3 in Iraq, 1 in Turkey, 1 in Kuwait, and maybe even 1 in Iran (I'm sure they would let us, as long as we just promise to leave). Start migrating troops to the "Departing Facilities" proportionately. I'm confident the military is capable of determining the order in which various troop duty sectors should be released (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.) Sure, considering the logistics, it isn't going to happen in one day, but I think 120 days (4 months) is a realistic target. Especially since we already have 2 safe zones capable of departures that already exist in Iraq. Besides, the attacks on Americans will diminish once they know we're leaving. To buy in to the argument; it was easier to get in, than it will be to get out, is ridiculas. Remember, it was a full fledged war getting in..!!! Q; How do we end the war? A; First you must acknowledge that the war is with terrorism, not Iraq (according to what we've been told by our illustrious administration). The war with terrorism will not end until we quit needlessly pissing people off. I beleive it can only be handled with dialog, international aid, and perhaps, even a little pentence on our part. But not military action, unless it is unavoidable, deliberate, and accurate. Keep in mind; Killing innocent people, occupying other countries, and sticking our nose where it doesn't belong is what created the threat of terrorism, and that is exactly what we are doing now. Our war on terrorism is literally increasing our opponents numbers..!! Q; Do we change the focus to one of a police action or what? A; No! Policing is just another term for sticking our nose where it doesn't belong. Granted, there will be times when such issues as, extreme oppression, and genicide, that will call for our direct attention. however any military action should be declared unavoidable, voted on, and approved (as well as supported) by the United Nations. Let the United Nations police the world, actually, it's in their job description. By the way, our country lost a lot of respect in the global community, when we went against the United Nations wishes, and invaded Iraq. And guess what..? they were right, and we were wrong... If our country was an employee, we'd be fired! I beleive I've answered the rest of your questions (on this reply) with the first three.. Is it a little more complicated than what I've laid out? Of coarse it is.. Are my ideas definitive? Of coarse not., But it's a start. And, it sounds better than anything else I've heard so far from our Grand Illusionist, or should I say Grand Dillusionist...!!! The bottom line is, I don't beleive the problems we face are insuperable, we just need good compitant and honest leadership, that is focused on doing the right thing for our country, as well as the world, with out any hidden agendas. As Pat Buchannan says in his new book "The time for greatness is now".. |

The ideals behind invading Iraq were good. But the operation was not executed correctly. Although, everybody is blaming the Bush Administration for this mess. We must see that if we didn't invade, and if they did in fact have weapons of mass destruction, we would have been in grave danger. Thus, Iraq was a risk we had t take. It was alsa vital strike to terror, although not apparant. And, Iraq and Iran have an Indo-Pakestan like relationship. The even engaged in war at one point, ie. the Iran-Iraq War. So since Iran is trying to gain nuclear capabliities, Iraq wouldn't be sitting around twidling thier thumbs. They would have copied Iran. And. by the way, at one point in the 70s or 80s, Iraq did have a nuclear reactor. So if we didn't invade Iraq, we would be dealing with two, dangerous, possibly nuclear capable nations.

As Pat Buchannan says in his new book "The time for greatness is now".. Good Day Thaddox, Thank you for taking my questions seriously. You gave me practical sensible answers to questions I meant rhetorically. For the purpose of discussion, I will now cherry pick your answers 1.How do we bring our troops home? Thad's Answer:Create safe zones specifically for departing flights;Sure, considering the logistics, it isn't going to happen in one day, but I think 120 days (4 months) is a realistic target Besides, the attacks on Americans will diminish once they know we're leaving. Thad, I dont think these statements answer the balance of my questions How do we wrest our Nation from the military complex? We spend almost a 1/2 trillion dollars a year to support our military in approximately 160 countries. Do we no longer want the role of Leader of The Free World the world's policemen? I am of the opinion based on your complete answers to my first 3 questions, one could infer that you do want us to continue as the Leader of the Free World, We police what democracies are acceptable, we police what relationships are appropriate, we police who can do business with whom, we basically decide who is good and who is evil. Good Day Zik, For the purpose of discussion, please add to some of your statements. You see the ideals in Iraq good. What ideals are those? I am responding to your post purely in a vein of selfishness (America First), because if 'Charity begins at Home' or 'Get that 2by4 out your eye before you attempt to get the splinter from someone else's eye', now if these statements aren't in the Golden Rules They Atta be With all Due Respect Jo4Peace |
