I note that today, the England football team have drawn Croatia again for the World Cup Qualifying Stage, after Croatia knocked us out of the European Championship. At least the runners-up get another chance in the World Cup qualifiers!
Bring in Fabio for the new England coach! (U.S.A have drawn Dominica or Barbados by the way. I do realise you have little interest in our national sport!) This post has been edited by The Colonel: Nov 25 2007, 05:50 PM -------------------- Snana, the friendly Sioux. |

I'm not sure why we don't get behind "soccer" more in the US.
We may not do well in the World Cup arena, but here's wishing you the best. -------------------- |

Okay! Good luck to you too. Germany are favourites to win the competition, after all. There never seems to be a problem with the state of German football. Just wonder what the difference is, for we have bad times. The Italians, French, Spanish all have bad times....
P.S. Do not understand the ROFL part. I'm not proficient with the computer/mobile cultural tampering with our fine language, which I find quite unneccesary. -------------------- Snana, the friendly Sioux. |

I apologise.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roflcopter ROFL - rolling on floor loughing LOL - loughing out loud German football has had its crisis a while back and is only just returning to a great state. We have our little shares in irregularities too. Wasnt trying to be mean or anything, just the German - England Football rivalry thing you know ^^. Yes I understood, of course! It is truly lighthearted with 99% of fans.
I know what you say about your 'crisis'. But when that occured, (hiccups against Wales then 5-1 England etc.), you still managed to qualify for the 2002 World Cup. In fact you have never failed to qualify, I believe. That crisis would not have constituted a crisis for most nations. It is a record you should be proud of and one which is admired by true football fans all over the globe. -------------------- Snana, the friendly Sioux. |

Yes I am responding to an old post, but it's new to me.
Yes I understood, of course! It is truly lighthearted with 99% of fans. The tabloids don't help here. I would go as far to say they stir up hatred. This is especially the case when England are playing either Argentina or Germany. |
