Really nice. Lots of time.
Do the floor boards always rot/rust over there as they do here. |

Hi Boopme,I bought it directly off the importers, and the all 4 floor pans were rusted out, when it arrived from the US. Had to hand shape new ones and mig weld in. Yes,lots of time was spent on this restoration. The Yellow '69 Mach 1,posted previous, had no rust whatsoever. This one was a very different story. Here's a pic of the repairs to the floor.

Excellent ride DSTM, Whats under the hood ? or whats going to be under the hood ? ( A max cube Lima would be nice I put a 351 4V Cleveland.sports performance in this one.Wanted it not too radical. I had to rewire so hid the wiring,as much as possible,to get an unclustered Engine Bay. Chrome and braided lines, and moved the Battery to the trunk. Here's a shot of the engine bay. ![]() My choice were the 289-302 and 351 Windsor Engines. Narrower V,lighter than the Clevo, and more bottom end torque.IMO. I had forgotten that the Aussies had the good Cleveland heads (big valves + small chambers). where as us over here in the states were forced to choose one or the other. Now we use Ebay to get a hold of those heads from Down under.

My choice were the 289-302 and 351 Windsor Engines. Narrower V,lighter than the Clevo, and more bottom end torque.IMO. Yep, On the street better low end , the 351C 4V doesn't wake up till the needle hits close to 4 grand on the tach. Here the 351C was available from 70-74 in various forms, the solid lifter Boss 351 ('71 only ) being the meanest. the 4V's had 2.19" intakes and 1.70" exhaust (same as the Boss 302, except in the 69 Boss with 2.23" intakes) bigger than most "big blocks" , the 2V's were much better for the street with an average 2.06" in. and 1.65" exh. If I was going to build up a 302 (5.0) if would be using this set up , called a "Street Boss" http://tomsmustangbarn.tripod.com/sbossbuild.htm . then add this to the mix ( in a windsor or Cleveland ) http://www.speedomotive.com/s-10-small-block-ford.aspx . either way I would stick to the 2Vs if I just wanted a crusier and not a all out bruiser.
