Thought it might be interesting to find out where we all live. I live in, and grew up in, the town of Troy, NH. It's a nice little place; 95% forest, the wildlife far outnumbers the human, and since the population is small (about 2000) everyone knows of practically everyone else.

When you post a response, please include a link to the town/city web page, if you can.

I live in Manatee County, Florida, in a section of the county that is surrounded by the City of Bradenton.

I'm only 5 to 10 minutes, according to traffic, from Anna Maria Island. Great sunsets almost every night.

Great pics! clapping.gif Australia is really the only other* country I want to visit before I die.

* Done Mexico. Lived in Hawaii. Now I know Hawaii is technically a part of the U.S., but I felt as if I was in another country while there. cool.gif

Not quite a year ago I moved from central Maryland to the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
A very small town called "Ridgely".
Less than 2,000 residents, it is representative of small town American farming, horse racing, and strawberries.
One bar, one barbershop, two gas stations, one drug store, one small grocery, and about 15 churches (everyone has one?).
We just lost our only restaurant. Closest pizza place is about 15 miles away?

I live in a penthouse apartment in the sky. Senior's apartments built into the old town movie theater.
(When asked where I live, I've learned to say "at the movie theater." And all know exactly where that is, young or old.)
New residents in the area are called "ditch jumpers". bounce.gif Referring to those that cross the Chesapeake Bay to live here now.

If you're driving from Maryland to the "shore", blown your horn as you pass by on the way to the beach.
I'll hear you and fire two shots as a return salute! flamethrower.gif flamethrower.gif

I currently reside in Salem, Virginia a Suburb of Roanoke, VA which is about 25 miles from my hometown of Huddleston, VA (population 2000 spread out) good luck finding anything on it unless its attached to Smith Mountain Lake which is really a whole other community (lets just say that "Irony is a Yankee complaining about 2 inches of snow").

As a former "Yankee" having grown up on a beef and timber ranch in N. Wisc in the '50's, I represent that remark...

QUOTE
"Irony is a Yankee complaining about 2 inches of snow"

Tho' we were only concerned just a bit after the snow reached the four foot accumulated marks, or more....
I had to drag the hay bales by hand through the white stuff. As the jeeps and tractors back then couldn't pull it.

And no, I didn't walk miles to school through that either. Heavy snows cancelled all activities. It was a fine life back then.

Yankees don't complain about a mere dusting of snow. Hell two inches ain't worth hookin' up the plows for!

Having lived most of my life in major metropolitan areas, two years ago I moved from just off the Lake in Chicago to the wilds of Indiana (fondly called Michiana by some) some two hours distant by automobile.
The closest village is Toto (one cafe, one local version of 7-11, and a antique store---all of which are closed Tuesdays). The only notable thing in town is a large wooden Indian that seems to be giving the Nazi salute to the 250 or so people living there.

Who's the sheriff of Nottingham, these days? And is Sherwood Forest still off limits?

Sorry. Couldn't help it.
