Hi, everyone. Many from the BC site that have read my posts know that I am a Christian.

This thread is for the discussion of the Book of Revelation and other end times prophesies in the bible.

As a general kick off question. How many think that we are living in the end times or at least close to them?

How would anyone know?
People have read the same passages for over a thousand years, and have believed that they were living in the "end times," so why would anyone today believe that they were correct in believing the same thing?

Question:

Isn't one of the keys to the "end times", the fact that Christians will definately know that it is happening?

I would say we are in the times. The world is pretty chaotic. It appears to be heading for ,one leader, religion, currency etc.
Man is bending all the rules and everyones got their rights and no one will give an inch. Looks like iit's corrupt and getting worse. This country took prayer out of school in '63? Now the muslims want prayer time ang mats. (off topic0 I wouldn't mind but can't we Americans pray too. We can't even have a 10 commandments. OOHH all that evil thinking there.....

I say let's do away with all religion. Maybe we might live more peacefully. Apparently everyone worries too much about it and it causes problems on both ends of the spectrum.

We're pretty close to the end of civilization. But religion has nothing to with it. People are stupid, that's all.

Couldn't agree more. I've long thought that the next big step in human evolution will be when the race finally realizes that religion has long outlived its' usefulness, and should be put in the box with the rest of the toys we've outgrown.

I do agree with you, need TOS. I do think that we are close to the end times. Especially the event known as the war of Gog and Magog described in Ezekiel ch 38-39. I highly recommend a book called Epicenter, by Joel Rosenberg.

Now that we have the first question out of the way. I'd like to go into the main discussion. I would like to take the book of Revelation one chapter per week, and discuss it through out the week.

Before we start, I want to pose one more question. For those familiar with Revelation, do you look at the BOkk of revelation as totally symbolic, mostly symbolic, or literal?

As for myself, I look at Revelation as mostly literal with some symbolism. The book tells you when something is a symbol and should be taken as such.
