I iwant to go over the three nations limit by one.
The UK above all others, then Australia and New Zealand, and then Canada.

I get confused on what independent Nations now comprise the United Kingdom.
(Some disavow such association?)

England is, or is that Great Britain?

Australia, Canada and New Zealand have been great allies/friends for many decades.
We have major political differences, but we also seem to come together when it really counts.

Israel goes their own way. They are not really allies as many other middle eastern nations are not either.

England=50 million of the 59 million within the UK.

Great Britain=England, Scotland and Wales.

United Kingdom=England, Scotland, Wales and N. Ireland.

British Isles=England, Scotland, Wales, N.Ireland and Eire (S.Ireland).

I'd say 'let's just say England', but the Scots and the Welsh would be just a little bit miffed! (We English are often told off for using the term 'England' for the UK)

Edit: Forgot to say, make it five: England whistling.gif, Israel, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

France, originally, was our single greatest alli, but since they disagreed with the Iraq war, they've become nothing to us..... I get it..!!!!
Just keep in mind, we most likely wouldn't be a country if it had'nt been for the French.. They were very instrumental in our gaining independence.... In fact, they were so thrilled that we were adapting a democracy, they sent us a gift.., The Statue of Liberty... They wrote the book on "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness", Although we like to take credit for it... It's just like Bush said; "Your either with us or against us"......... Well, they weren't with us on the whole Iraq thing, so we don't like them anymore..!! But I can gaureentee you, if our freedom was trully challenged, they'd have our backs....

Thaddox -

I'd like to point out that history actually extends back prior to the Iraq War laugh.gif -

since the end of WWII, after Charles de Gaulle took power in France, it hasn't been much of a supporter of either the US or Great Britian.

The United Kingdom is England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. But it is one nation, none of them are independent. They use the same currency and have 1 government.

As for Israel, I think they are a great ally. They are the only nation that share American ideals in the region. As do the protect American interests. And they would go much further than many other nations in the world to assist the U.S.

True, but they supported our original stab at Iraq (Desert Storm).. And was in support of the inspectors prior to Iraqi Freedom.. They even sent one of their own inspectors on behalf of the U.N. For that matter Germany and Russia was with us, until we decided to act unilaterally..!!! Again, if our freedom was trully on the line, France (and germany for that matter) would be with us.. Let's face it, the Iraq war has chisseled away at the sentiment our allies once had for America...

Uh,

both France and Germany had billions of Euross in both legal and illegal oil revenues on the line with Saddam's regime. Their motives were primarily Euro based.

Good Day Zik,
I guess I will add my two cents, the problem with the question is this is an International community and I would be loathe to offend an ally by not including them, but any way here goes in no specific order.
Great Britain, Canada and Australia
Respectfully

Uh,

Yes.., Money is a driving factor with the U.S. as well..! Free enterprise is what fuels democracy, and freedom in general.. With-out condeming them for "Tryin to make a buck", I gaurantee, they would not stand by idoly, and watch the U.S. lose it's status as a Free Society..
I know, because they, also, are considered civilized free societies (like the U.S.), it seems like a slap in the face when they don't agree with us.., However, make no mistake about it, when it comes to the "big picture", we're on the same team..!!
I think it is important for Americans to realize that China, and North Korea are real powerhouses, we will (most likely) have to deal with eventually, and who will be there, when our freedom trully is at risk ... Just try to keep sight of the big picture, and don't hate'em because they're smarter than us.... nerd.gif

Uhh France? I don't know if you have ever been there or not but they HATE us. My Great Uncle was at the "Liberation" they loved us then, but then they must have forgotten about it.

I'd have to say, in no particular order, UK, Canada, Australia.
