I've bought one of these (well, 'Santa' will actually be popping it under the tree on Christmas Eve) for my 10 year old grandson.

If I understand correctly, any music on one's computer can be up-loaded directly onto the Nano?

But only from one computer? For instance, if he loads music from mine and then tries to up-load music from his own - all the music from mine will be erased?
(Egad, all this was easier when the children simply wanted wooden trains, etc - gentle smile).

Any info will be appreciated and I'd hate to be a duffus on xmas morning and no nothing about this magical 'Nano'.

Thanks so much!

I have a Nano, and your son will love it.

You can download any music from I-Tunes from one computer. If he tries to get music from another computer the original stuff will be deleted. You could always just burn a cd of the music on your computer and put it on his computer, then he can have both.

Strangely enough, the directions that come with the Nano aren't too too complicated, and I'm sure you will be just fine.

Good luck!

Thanks so much, Sphinx - and in a moment I'll burn all his favourite songs from my computer onto a CD to plop into his computer on Christmas day.

Blushing with embarassment here but "I-Tunes"? I know it's a down-load, pay as you go for each song/video, site but knowing that makes me wonder if the songs on my computer have to be downloaded onto the CD for him in a certain format?

I'm mentally cringing thinking that he's going to develop a love for the I-Tunes download site - eep! - so I truly do appreciate your help with all this - thank you, thank you!

I-Tunes automatically comes with the box and the Nano. You can install it when he opens the gift! It's just a simple little CD. From there you can download all your music onto it.
