Dr. Paul again displayed his intellectual superiority over the GOP echo chamber in the latest debate. Despite the efforts of the MSM to portray Dr. Paul as a kook with an opening question about conspiracy theories, Dr. Paul handled all questions in an intellectually honest, substansive, and direct manner. Concerning the first question directed to Dr. Paul about an alleged conspiracy to form a North American Union with Canada and Mexico and make the United States a part of international government, Dr. Paul correctly pointed out that the United States government has already gone to war to enforce UN resolutions. The Trilateral Commision and Counsel on Foriegn Relations are realities that exist and do exert an influence on the foriegn policy making apparatus of the US Government. Dr. Paul correctly decried the idea of a conspiracy and labeled the conflict between himself and the foriegn policy elites more as a conflict of visions than a conspiracy. Dr. Paul does not believe the United States should go to war to enforce UN resolutions, and the Constitution should not be superseded by international organizations that seek to burden the American people with a flood of petty, bureacratic, international regulations that will hamper productivity and destroy jobs.
On the budget, fiscal responsibility, spending restraint, and taxes Dr. Paul again outshone the entire field of GOP big government socialist and warmongers. Dr. Paul is the only candidate who specifically mentioned that he would abolish the Department of Education and the Department of Energy. Dr. Paul also correctly pointed out the high cost of an American interventionist foriegn policy that does not make Americans safer, stirs up antiAmerican sentiment around the world, and is bankrupting the United States Government. Dr. Paul would save the American taxpayer billions and billions of dollars by returning to the foriegn policy of Washington and Jefferson of commerce and honest friendship with all nations but entangling alliances with none. On taxes, Dr. Paul correctly pointed to his record in congress of never voting for a tax increase. He pointed out that it is very easy to support this tax cut or that tax cut, but all to often the spending side of the equation is ignored. Spending cuts are just as important as tax cuts. Dr. Paul is just as aggressive on the spending side of the equation as the tax side of the equation. Dr. Paul, however, really outshone the entire GOP echo chamber on Iraq. Dr. Paul restated his positon that he would return Iraq to the people of Iraq by ending the US military occupation of Iraq. He slammed Senator McCain for not understanding the difference between an isolationist foriegn policy and a foriegn policy of nonintervention. Dr. Paul pointed out that he is not an isolationist. Like Jefferson and Washington he favors commerce and trade with all nations but entangling alliances with none. Apparently, the likes of McCain and people of his ilk think anyone who opposes the latest war concocted by the foriegn policy elites of this country is an isolationist. It is plain McCain thinks the best way to interact with the rest of the world is to impose sanctions on them, bomb them, and kill them (all for thier own good of course), and anyone who thinks differently is an isolationist. McCain never meant a war he did not support, and would not even concede the folly of the Viet Nam War. Dr. Paul rejects this sort of thinking. Dr. Paul thinks it is better to trade with other people than bomb or kill them. Dr. Paul thinks it is better to resolve disputes through diplomacy rather than war. Dr. Paul does not think the United States Government should use guns and bombs to tell the other people of the world how to live. He correctly points out that they resent it and we would resent it also. All and all, despite the efforts of the MSM and the efforts of the GOP establishment, Dr. Paul emerged as the winner of the GOP debate. It was another first class performance by Dr. Paul that cannot be equaled by anyone in the Republican Party or Democratic Party. |

Despite the efforts of the MSM to portray Dr. Paul as a kook with an opening question about conspiracy theories, ... It is bound to happen every once in a while - the Main stream media got something right! OK, seriously - did you write that Winston? I'm thinking that there is a chance that you are a Ron Paul supporter, but I could be wrong. -------------------- |

I'm thinking that there is a chance that you are a Ron Paul supporter, but I could be wrong. I am a supporter of Dr. Paul for the Presidency of the United States and I am proud of that fact. I am not being paid by the Paul campaign, and I have only been contacted by the Paul Campaign to thank me for my modest monetary contribution to help Dr. Paul win the presidency of the United States. |

I understand that Dr. Paul has had a great response from younger voters, much like Barry Goldwater did in an earlier time. I think younger voters appreciate someone actually speaking their mind.

Good Day Winston, I agree with you Dr. Paul did hold his own and I was proud that all the people on that stage had to give Dr. Paul his proper respect because they know that he has a strong following, in the beginning the other candidates tried to defeat him by making him sound like he was being poly annish by his not-for-war position and his true conservative positions, like america first. I agree with him that the Dept of Education should be abolished and most of those funds distributed to the states for better schools and better teacher salaries. Their should be a national standard but it should and must be controled and designed by the communities that are closer to knowing their individual needs. I disagree that the Energy Dept be abolished I believe we do need a national standard and its policies should be federally controlled. From an admirer of Dr. Ron Paul Jo4Peace |

Go to this site to see the results of the CNN poll. Dr. Paul crushed everyone, getting more than twice the votes of his closest rival. -------------------- Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose.
