I'm starting to apply to colleges, and I'm curious. Where'd you guys go, and why? Was it good or bad? Looking for some invaluable insight here!

I spend my undergraduate years at the Athens of the West, the University of Colorado, and count those years as some of the happiest in my life, and most rewarding both intellectually and personally. As long as the university is large enough to support a wide cross-section of students, a strong faculty, and varied non-classroom experiences, it will provide the proper nourishment to those who wish to sit at its banquet. Post graduate decisions are an entirely different story because it is the department faculty that is the deciding factor.

I suggest that the entire purpose of an undergraduate experience (outside of a remedy to the poor secondary education in pubic schools) is to provide expanding intellectual vistas and introduce students to as yet untaken paths, which most larger state universities do.
Depending on your academic credentials and interests, there are also quite a few private institutions.
