 Just Have to tell anyone interested that my daughter's high school band went to TN state championships the weekend. They went to finals (the 1st time since the creation of the program, 30 yrs) They finished 8th in the state for Division 1. A big Crongrats to the Houston County Marching Band, Pride of the Emerald Isle, Erin TN for their field show titled WHODUNNIT. This post has been edited by mz30: Nov 5 2007, 04:45 PM

I grew up in Lex. Ky. and participated in the marching band through high school and can appreciate level of competition that goes on with it. In the late sixties when I was in band we had band camp for one week in August where all of the regional bands would move into the dorms at EKU where we learned our music and routine sixteen hours a day, it was great...blistered lips and all. Congratulations, I know how hard they worked for their victory.
