Of all the countries I have visited,Austria is by far the best country. So clean and pristine and the food, the best In my opinion. Here is a link and you can click on many towns and Villages and judge for yourself.Would live there in a heartbeat if it was possible. My Spouse comes from Gmunden, the first Village you see.

Austria is indeed beautiful DSTM, I enjoyed the pics., it did, however, make me wish I could go to Berlin,Germany again. It's a beautiful city and the country side out of town is great. There's so much history there and since the Wall came down there is alot more to see. Two castles that we got to see were unbelievable! They are from the time of Frederick the Great and when you go through the castles they have you put felt slippers on over your shoes to protect the floors. When I was there they were still in the process of restoring alot of the statues that stood on the top of one of the castles plus they were renovating everything, when the wall was up alot of these treasures were left to ruin or still showed signs of bullet holes etc. from WWll. I stayed for a month the last time I was in Berlin and if I'd had the chance I would never have left.

Well I haven't got any special place to speak of just yet, but if everyone could just wait till the end of June next year, I'm sure there will be some pics that I can share with you all.
Definately going now DSTM, to Paris, Croatia, Italy and Russia, will be there a month and a half. Unfortunately there just isn't enough funds to go everywhere, I can only assume that this will be a good starter. -------------------- He's not the Messiah...He's just a very naughty boy! austria is indeed a beautiful country with plenty of winter sports in the alps and most impressive and overblown architecture. Vienna being its hub for country's musical life and beautiful buildings. I enjoyed skiing in the snow-capped mountain peaks.

^ Off topic post?
Anyway, a friend pointed out this particular section in wikipedia for me: F***ing Austria (Mods, if the simple mention of the word - even if it's not actually what it refers to - is illegal, please do edit this one out. Thanks.) Don't worry, it actually refers to a real place in Austria. I'm still laughing at the moment. Sorry. This post has been edited by matthew26: Apr 23 2008, 06:38 AM -------------------- |
