[hr /]

Xchat-(Supports Linux and Windows)

Thanks so so so much, Blackspyder! Wonder if it could be 'pinned' somewhere easy for members to find later too?

Having this to refer to will make it ever so much easier for our members and I appreciate your hard work and kindness in helping smile.gif

After BlackSpyder has finished. Some minor editing by others. We will pin each as a separate Topic here.
(Removing comment posts of course for simplicity.)

It may be worth throwing some pointers regarding the Perform section of mIRC such as Identifying, auto joining channel and safe guarding the nickname.

Here some screen shots with regard to mIRC and how to configure other parts of it.

When you first launch mirc you will see the nag screen from the author, click carry on.

The next screen you see will be this screen;
Note the Highlighted Option is on Connect

Fill your details in with;
Full Name being anything you want and your email address the same.

Tick Invisible Mode.

Next click the Servers option and you will see this screen;

Note that I have edited it to Chat, it just makes it easier to find I think.
If you want to do the same you will have to click Edit and you will see this screen;

Just replace Random Server with Chat.

Next click the Options option and you will see this screen;

Click on the Perform button and you will see this screen;

Make sure the box "Enable Perform on Connect" is ticked.

Insert the commands EXACTLY as listed below.
The blanked out area is where your password goes that you provided when you registered.

The last shot is showing the button that you need to press to connect, shown circled.
The folder surrounded by the rectangle brings back the Option tree.

When you first get online with your new nickname you will need to register it with nickserv (this is not a spelling mistake)
To do so you need to type exactly the next sentence, this is just an example only.

/msg nickserv register johndoe xyz@abc.com

johndoe is your password that you must include in the Perform section mentioned earlier.

xyz@abc.com is your email address, this address must be legitimate.

That's it for the moment but if I think of any more I will add to.

Wolfey
