Anybody know of any good, RTS, RPG, FPS (type of games) for Linux? Specifically Ubuntu.

NWN Diamond will install natively on Linux except for Kingmaker expansion (but that'll run in Wine)

If you're hooked to the net on this Ubuntu PC, I would recommend typing, in the terminal:

sudo apt-get install dosbox

Then, any DOS RPG will run! Make a launcher by right-clicking on the screen and typing Create Launcher...

Select Run in Terminal, and set the command as dosbox

Take a look at Betrayal at Krondor, the Rob Blanc series, Flight of the Amazon Queen, and Virtua School (text-only, but hilarious nonetheless).
The first is a rich RPG based on the book by Raymond E. Feist. The others are comedic RPGs that cause giggling wink.gif

Another game that runs great in DOS box is The Elder Scrolls Chapter one: Arena, it is an RPG that started the TES series. I love it but make sure you bump up the CPU cycles to 10000 at least

If you get Dos-box working, you can go here for some old-school games (including the aforementioned ones):

Abandonia.com

There are many abandonware games available for download here! wink.gif

Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions! I'll have to give them a try. Mostly I wanted to see if there was a RTS natively for Linux.

They don't even sell those games anymore...not even on the Lucasarts online store!! The only way to get them is to pirate them or sell your firstborn on eBay.

At least the Sam & Max francise is no longer in their hands...Telltale Games is handling it now. smile.gif

Apogee is the same way. Commander Keen and ROTT were cool (even to this day they are) but good luck getting a hold of a copy)
