Hmm.. a poll only -forum? Or just have the option to create polls in the already existing forums?

I'm with you I like polls. I think separate is better as they would be easier to find and take part in.

For now - open your Poll in the most appropriate forum to the subject?

I prefer the poll in the forum of the poll topic.
If I'm interested in forum subject, then I'm likely to want to contribute to the poll. But, maybe that's just me. -------------------- |

I'd start a poll on which people prefer,
but I'm not sure what forum it should be in. -------------------- |

Shall we keep it topic specific for now?

Works for me.
I wonder though - what about a forum for polls, but after a poll is created one of the staff moves it to the appropriate topic area? This way, it would appear somewhat in both places, making everybody happy. -------------------- |

Like double posting - not the best thing to do.
Subject specific in the appropriate forum? -------------------- The only easy day was yesterday....

Like double posting - not the best thing to do. Not exactly. In the Poll forum there would only be the title, so replies would only go in the actual poll in the proper Forum. Probably not a good idea, even then, the more I think about it. QUOTE Subject specific in the appropriate forum? Yeah, that get's my vote, if we are voting. -------------------- |

I'm not abject to a polls forum just yet. Just that I don't think it fits here quite yet? IDK? I also don't make the decisions here either... ha ha ha

I'm with you I like polls. I think separate is better as they would be easier to find and take part in. I don't recall being on any board that does it that way, boopme. I'm not saying that to be negative, I've just always seen a poll that relates to a topic being in that overall topic forum. I can see where more people might participate in the polls if they knew about them and I can see where someone who doesn't usually go into a forum would not know about a new poll that may have been started there. I guess that if folks checked the "view new posts" section when they first check the board, they'll see any new polls that have been created since their last visit. -------------------- |

I don't recall being on any board that does it that way. there are a few forums that do it that way although many times either its to keep the Front Page Poll's archived (if they have one), or as a catch-all for homeless polls. -------------------- ![]() Speak softly and carry a weighted baseball bat. Not a problem John. It's just that most of the forums I belong to have their polls separated . I find it convenient to stroll thru the polls in one location. My humble opinion. A few examples

I knew I've been leading a sheltered life.
I've been on at least 50 different boards, and had never seen it that way. It does look like another reasonable way to do things, though. It really wouldn't matter that much to me which way we went here. Like Conundrum said - I don't make the decisions here, either. -------------------- |
