They grow up way too fast don't they mz? It doesn't seem all that long ago that my boys were starting school and you're right it's rough, esp. when the youngest one finally goes. The best thing you can do for your little girl is to not show her how upset it makes you seeing her beginning to grow up so soon. A warm smile and a " Have a good time at school today and you can tell me all about it when you get home" usually helps with any jitters that the little ones have. However, my oldest one decided after the 3rd day of first grade that he didn't want to go to school and threw an awful fuss outside the school when I went to drop him off. One of the hardest things I ever had to do was to force him to go into the school where the principle was waiting to try and calm him down so he could go to class!! I found out the next day that the reason he didn't want to go to school anymore was because the day before he had accidentally dropped his lunch tray in the lunch room and the other kids laughed at him. This was his first year of having lunch at school. After some assurance that everything would be okay and accidents happen to everyone I had no further problems getting him to go to school.
It seems that what is a small matter to us is very upsetting sometimes for little ones so be patient and walk her through as best you can.
I'll be thinking of you and all will be okay, you'll see. smile.gif

Agreed the first day at school is a tearful one. Both for the Child who is taken out of their secure environment, and put with a lot of total strangers, and the Parents who won't have their Child, during the day.A Child of this age doesn't fully understand whats going on.It was also tearful for us Parents the first day,on arriving back home the place seemed so empty, without them. You have to put on a brave face at the School, for the Childs sake, and when you get home, dont be afraid to show your emotions.Don't forget the Camera,I did.

Yeah thanks for putting that in my head boopme hysterical.gif
Would like to thankyou guys for your words of encouragement.
It seems that for the first few days my wife has to stay with her to get her used to it,then after that she's on her own.
As she is very clingy to her mum ,it's going to be hard for her as well as my wife and myself.
My wife has been teaching her lots of stuff from very early on up to now she can write her own name ,my name and my wifes name and a few other things too.
she can count to 100 and can name every planet in our solar system.
Not bad for three years old.
oh and she also comes up with her own songs (really)
i will ask her to make up a song for me and she will do it they rhyme and everything thumbup2.gif

If I'm reading your post correct 'mz30' I gather that the Mother can stay at School with the Child. That sounds like a better transition, than we have here.
Here, the Parent can't stay with the Child in school, and I think that makes it so much more traumatic for the Child.

Yes dstm
the itinary for her first week is

day one mother and child 1 hour
day two mother and child 2 hour
day three mother and child1 hour child alone for further hour
day four mother and child half hour child alone for one and half hours
day five child alonefor the full 3 hours

Tht should give the children time to make friends and still have mum there as well.
Seems very good way of doing things thumbup2.gif

Still laughing as yes, we have a tendency to swing from tears at the very first day of school to 'free at least! sighs of relief as the children grow older smile.gif

I'm afraid there is still two more hurdles to cross ... when they leave for College/University and you know they will never 'come home' again, at least not in the same way ... and when they marry and you know that life is changed forever.

Nice Pics Mz30 - thanks for sharing.

I always hated the first day at any school. And I had more than 10 of them.
Mine, I mean. I'm talking about a whole bunch of really different schools I had to "start up" at - ha ha ha.

I loved first days for my own children, though the wife didn't much.
In just the one day, you see them start to walk away on their own.

Graduations were the tough times for me. But that's offtopic.gif

It may be 'off topic' but we could surely have a new thread about schools and kids surviving them - gentle grin! Feel free to start a thread at anytime as I suspect lots of us already out of school or still in school have much in common. smile.gif
