Wandered off to find the story behind his arrest. Dod, you'd think this duffas would have learned.
Must admit when I first read the post of his arrest, even knowing that one can't be re-tried for a murder once not convicted, I hoped and hoped and hoped. Sounds awful, I guess, but even taking away all the slant the news gave during the first trial, I feel in my heart he was guilty - ugh. |

It would be very satisfying to me to see this murderer taken off the streets, he is facing five counts of felony arrest, the worst of those is the armed robbery which could land him in prison for up to thirty years.

I have followed the OJ Simpson Saga from day one,and always thought this Man was guilty. What annoys me is these high profile individuals think they are above the law. With their ability to afford the best Legal Aid,can commit even Murder and stand a good chance of walking free.I think this is so wrong.

Can someone be charged with stealing their own property? Just wonderin'. Definately especially if they use guns. You may have an arguement if you just take back your things, but armed robbery makes it different. Police say some things aren't even his. I'm trying to see if this wasn't property he was previously made to forfeit in the civil case. In which it would no longer even be his property. QUOTE Fromong said Simpson walked in with several companions, two of whom leveled guns at the people in the room. The other victim, Alfred Beardsley, told TMZ.com that Simpson later called him to apologize and said he regretted the incident. CNN.com |

I'm trying to see if this wasn't property he was previously made to forfeit in the civil case. In which it would no longer even be his property. CNN.com I guess we are just hung up on legal terms. I don't think it is stealing, or robbery, if the items belong to you or in this case, OJ. Did he remove only the property that was supposedly his, or did he remove other property? It would seem to me that if he knew that someone had his property, he should have gotten the police involved in an effort to recover that property. Taking matters into his own hands in this manner isn't very smart, that's for sure. I would agree that he could be charged with some level of assualt, especially since they were wielding weapons. Based on what I've read and heard, he is guilty of something, that's for sure. -------------------- |

Yeah!
At gun point it's felony assault x ?number of guns and invaders involved. The robbery is already known. KISS -------------------- The only easy day was yesterday....

...he should have gotten the police involved in an effort to recover that property. Taking matters into his own hands in this manner isn't very smart, that's for sure. He's stated that the reason he didn't get the police involved is that they've just blown him off when he has called 'em.QUOTE I would agree that he could be charged with some level of assualt, especially since they were wielding weapons. The same story stated that Simpson was the only one that wasn't armed.QUOTE Based on what I've read and heard, he is guilty of something, that's for sure. That may or may not be the case. Granted, he bought his way out of a murder conviction. It's not the first time it's been done. Does anyone remember hearing of a place called Chappaquiddick? Ted Kennedy had the money flowing before he could even be arrested and charged with drunk driving and manslaughter. Now I'm not defending Simpson - I believe he's guilty as hell of murdering those two people. But consider this - can dragging someone into a kangaroo court on trumped-up charges out of a desire to "make him pay" really be considered justice? -------------------- Lib. Free or Die

Now I'm not defending Simpson Nor am I unduly accusing him. I'm just not sure what the exact charge or charges should be. If the items he and his crew were trying to obtain were not his, then some level of theft seems reasonable. If the guys he was with had weapons, then he may be an accessory to some level of battery, etc. We, the people, may be happy to see him go to jail for something, but so far I don't see this as being "trumped-up charges out of a desire to "make him pay"" at all. However, he is lucky that "acting bone-headed" isn't illegal, that's for sure. -------------------- |

Even if there were not guns and OJ could prove ownership he went beyond the law to use a strong arm attempt to recover "his" possessions. Now, let's take a look at "his" possessions, due to the letter of the law when he lost the civil suit to the Goldmans any assets such as these legally belong to Goldman. Now you don't suppose that OJ just happened to forget this, or do you think that perhaps this is why he did a end run on the law to try to "recover" these possessions?

However, he is lucky that "acting bone-headed" isn't illegal, that's for sure. If it were, there wouldn't be room enough for all the jails we'd need - to house 99.99% of the population. Boneheadedness is not supposed to be a lifestyle. This post has been edited by MattV: Sep 18 2007, 07:34 AM -------------------- Lib. Free or Die

OJ is upset.
He thought "What Happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" and can't believe he was arrested! -------------------- |
