Well,

whenever I see her I think wild, estatic, fantasy thoughts like:

earth, wind, fire, water - if only there were a fifth element.

This one actually looks like the best of all three. I thought the first one was decent, the second one crap, and this one looks interesting. Of course I would not be able to find anyone to see this in the movies with so will prob have to wait till cable.

I gather that the first 2 came out in approx 1996 and 1998 on Playstation? I have a niece who wants the new release when it comes out for her birthday and I have no idea what this is about except from what I have googled and gather the it is some sort of Horror movie...but not necessarily bad.
What are these versions that lead up to this next one really all about?
I don't like to encourage my 16 year old niece to watch movies that I don't know what the content is about.

Any comments would be appreciated. Thx

Well, there are the games and there are the movies based on the games.

Maybe this wikipedia article - Resident Evil - will help.

I believe it is the movie "Resident Evil: Extinction" that is getting all the exposure recently.

Edit - fixed link.

Resident Evil (Video Game): Generator of the Survival Horror RPG (Role Playing Game) genre. 1,2, and Nemisis (aka 3) were originally released on the Playstation. Code Veronica X, Dead Aim, Outbreak, and Outbreak: File 2 were all released for the Playstation 2 (although Code Veronica was originally released for the Dreamcast). Finally there is RE:4 which was released for the GameCube and later ported to the other main consoles. that covers all the current releases. Up coming releases include The Umbrella Chronicles(Wii), and RE:5(PS#,Xbox 360).

Basic Synopsis of Plot up to RE:4: Raccoon City has become infested with the T-cell virus which has been released into the city by the Umbrella Corp (unknowingly). The T-Cell virus kills its host and then resurrects them as a Zombie. You have to figure out the puzzles and avoid being killed by the zombies in order to win. Outbreak allows you to replay though the scenario using different characters introduced into the games.

RE:4 plot: You play as Leon, who in the aftermath of the fall of Umbrella became a Secret Service Agent, and must save the Presidents Daughter from a cult of infected Eastern Europeans after she is kidnapped. It reeks of Umbrella Corp's involvement.

The Movies: RE deals with the plot line of the first and part of the second game. Armageddon deals with the remainder of the original series (remaining parts of RE:2 and all of Nemisis). The movies are not directly taken from the games and actually have little to do with plot lines verbatim.

Hope this helps. It is a very good game that , while being inherently violent, challenges your mind with its multi layered puzzles. ( In the original games even saving was a puzzle. Find the ink ribbon, find the typewriter, then save)

Well watched it last night ,what can i say?
To be honest it could have been much better ,while the story was o.k ,the time frame when the movie was set was a little out for me.
Without giving anything away ,action scenes were good .
Story was ok
other than that wait till it's on cable thumbup2.gif
