I don't believe he is or ever was a Christian but only GOD trully knows his heart. But from what I've seen so far he scares the tar outta me. Muslims support him around the globe and have donated to his camp ( http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=71431 ) If he was trully a Christian they would want him dead. His little slip up on "This Week" with George Stephanopolis should make you wonder.

And then reading this article from 1-1/2 years ago (March 07) from Nicholas Kristof of the New York Times who I assume is still a supporter of Obama. This article alone should get you thinking even more.

If you haven't seen any of this before it is because the media doesn't want you to know, they feel you're too stupid to do your own research and they'll feed you whatever they think will get him elected.

I wouldn't have a problem with him if he said he was a muslim all along and people still voted for him. I still wouldn't have voted for him because of his views but at least he would have been honest. So is he lying? If so, why?

Whilst I am cautious and aware that media, particilarly television, is a powerful tool and quite often used subtly as a political tool, I do find it difficult to imagine the American press suppressing such facts. That is if, of course, if they believe such facts to be relevant.

As a Conservative in England, however, I stress that naturally I would like John McCain, being the Republican party candidate, to win the Presidential election.

In the US Constitution, there is an express prohibition against making any kind of religious test for holding office. A president is sworn to uphold the Constitution and to defend the Nation against all enemies; let him do this, and keep his religious beliefs to himself. And let us allow him to keep those to himself.

Are you kidding me? First off, just because someone is muslim does not mean they want all christians dead. You're referring to radical fundamentalism, of which is only a very small percentage of muslims around the world. You speak of doing research. Have you ever read his book? I'll be honest when I say that I haven't, but I know people who have, and when I discuss with them the book it seems pretty clear that the accusations are grounded in nothing. I'm willing to bet most of your research involves republican propoganda. The comment of Kristof is silly. I've used that author several times in my English class not only because our teacher has us read many articles representing different viewpoints, of which includes the author, but also because he is intelligent, well-informed, and a skilled journalist. The general media doesn't report it because there are no hard facts to back it up with, which means no story. I comment on the so-called "slip-up" in another thread.

I don't find either candidate to be truly satisfactory, as I am neither Republican or Democrat, but the constant stream of muslim rumors from republican based propaganda is beyond annoying. Muslims around the world support Obama because everyone around the world supports Obama something like 4 to 1 (i'll find the original link where i found this statistic, hopefully will be up later) because the world is tired of Republican unilateralism which is everything McCain represents.

I found the answer Obama gave to the question of the separation of church and state to be a good one. He said, look at all those countires in the world which do not separate church and state and look at the problems they are having. The separation of church and state is not a real question for anyone in the U.S., because at that moment when a politician says that he or she knows what God wants, all of the laws become invalidated and there is no one who wants that.
