Last season New York Giants played the Miami Dolphins at Wembley stadium. It certainly did no harm to the Giants who triumphed 11-10 in wet conditions, then went on to win the SuperBowl!

There will be at least one match in the UK next season.

I was wondering what other people thought of what could be a spreading trend. Soon NFL matches may be played all over the world.

Well, thanks for the replies. tongue.gif

I think so long as it never becomes more than two games per season, it is okay.

Otherwise there is the danger of the game losing it's identity in the US.

I totally missed this thread.

I thought you posted it today, and wondered why you said "thanks for the replies" after only a few hours.

I suspect that the NBA will be first to go "global" (they already have a team in Canada) or even Major League Baseball (Canada already, too) since they both have a strong international following.

Is NFL Europe doing well enough to make the idea of expanding the NFL viable?

QUOTE
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell thanked the fans for their support but said it was time to develop a new international strategy, terming the move to fold NFL Europa the "best business decision." The league reportedly was losing about $30 million a season.

That says it all methinks.

The original posts title was a tabloid trick. I just really meant the current NFL teams playing outside of the US.

Imagine if the SuperBowl was played outside the US. I think it would cause riots.

Basketball is quite strong on the continent, but not that popular in the UK.
