Hello, I just wanted to know if there were others like me with several of the same name'd member of the family. For example:

My Grandfather: Billy Robert O'Neal Sr.
My Father: Billy Robert O'Neal Jr.
Me: Billy Robert O'Neal III

There's also an uncle Bill who's long gone.

We've always joked about what would happen if were pulled over:
<cop> What's your name?
<Sr.> Bill O'Neal
<cop> What's your name?
<Jr.> Bill O'Neal
<cop> What's your name?
<III> Bill O'Neal
<cop> What's your name?
<Uncle> Bill O'Neal
<cop> What are you tryin to pull? Let me see some ID.
<all show cop>
<cop> *shakes head*

Something like that smile.gif

On the other hand,

if one reads in the paper that "Bill O'Neal" was arrested,

we won't know which one of you it was!

smilie_colors1.gif You could have had a bob-sleigh team of Billy O'Neals.

We have alternated names for hundreds of years. I am Reginald Frederick as was my Grandfather and his Grandfather were named. My father was Terence Reginald but his Grandfather was Frederick Reginald. Have not been able to go
back further, would have to delve into Kentish parish records for that, I only have two daughters. So it ends here.....

Think it's a method of naming children based, mostly, to honour the person a child is named after. But could always be worse - your mother could have named you 'Euphemia', only to have your father race the postal service to the appropriate government office to have it changed before registration took place! Huge grin!

I bet there is no where in the world that has the same name as me.

My brother has the same name as my dad ,and my dad's dad's brother's son had the same name as my dads dad but no one has the same name as me and our name is unique.

My name is peter jones(kidding) hysterical.gif

Hey MZ, off topic a bit, but are you watching Euro? The Germans look good, even though I wanted Turkey to turn them over and the Russkys to win tonight. Still be a good final though.

Just got back from a few days away so I'll not beat you on quiz this time, bah! mellow.gif

Well, maybe the Germans looked good,

but so does Spain.

From what I've seen, I'm likin' Spain to win it all.

Funny thing about that, yep we looked into Ken's family tree. I used to kid him about everyone from where he came from being inbreds due to the lack of a larger population. When he got copies of his family tree from a friend who he grew up with to our surprise they were all related!!!! Now I know why he looks a bit odd, too many cousins marrying a bit too close??? Scares me and I'm fearless!!! I'm also not so sure they didn't swing from some trees. blink.gif whistling.gif
