I just walked through the other room and saw a quick ad for tomorrow's "Judge Judy" courtroom TV show.
Judge Judy: Have you ever been arrested? Defendant: Yes. JJ: For what were you arrested> D: I'd rather not say on national television because it's embarrasing. JJ: Sir, people who do not want to be publically embarassed on natonal television do not come on court TV. Well, doh! -------------------- I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!  |

I love the concept of these daytime court shows: regular courts get freed up for the "serious" stuff, and viewers get to laugh at people making fools of themselves. Gotta love it!

I've heard some people say the participants are actors. Whether that's true or not, she must get paid a fortune.
My favourite ever bit was when one of the defendants kept saying, 'and stuff'. This annoyed the judge throughout. But at the end of the case, Burt says, 'Out the door and to the right, and stuff'.

We watch Judge Judy when we remember, as well - although that's the only Court show we do bother with. After so many years of working in the Justice System, suspect there isn't much she hasn't seen or heard - at least once.
At least on her show she keeps 'order' - we tried a couple of the other similar ones and they appeared to be more of a 'run off at the mouth' while the Judge smiled. |

I like to watch Judge Judy too, when I remember too Mara. There's not much that gets past her and she has one heck of a knack for lining out participants in a hurry. They don't argue long with her!!

Don't forget Iodine and Mara, that though the Judge is obviously exceptionly bright(except in math(s)
), she has all the power and most shows are edited to make the star look good.
