There's more than one way to terrorize a country it would seem. It's getting to the point that we are all but held captive by the oil producing countries that our esteemed leaders and oil companies deem it necessary to deal with.
Think I'm getting another horse, at least it leaves S I can clean up.

We have our own oil! Don't you think its time we stop playing patty cake with these people and show them we don't NEED them.

Sorry, Vicki, the NIMBY folks won't allow that.

Don't know if you guys saw this....A big discovery in North Dakota...

New Massive Oil Deposit in North Dakota

Let's not drill. We can keep importing and sending all that money outside this country....Makes perfect sense... blink.gif

Yes, Eric, that and ANWR, and the oil off much of our coastlines is exactly what I'm talking about.

The NIMBY folks will stand up against our drilling for the oil.

We could be oil independent while we move to alternate fuel sources over the next decades or so.

The part that makes this even more unbelievable is that other countries will drill off our coasts and take the oil while we sit back and say "Gee, I wish they wouldn't do that."

BTW - The Bush haters will ignore the fact that he would have had us drilling in ANWR already

and the Clinton supporters will ignore the fact that Clinton vetoed ANWR drilling even earlier.

Until we get more refineries, its kind of a mute point!

The NIMBY folks won't let us build any more of them, either.

And they are some of the very ones complaining about the high costs. blink.gif

It is a simple case of supply and demand. If the supply is higher than the demand for goods, the cost of those goods goes down. The solution is simple. Drill in our own reserves and expand refinery capacity. The available supply will increase and the price will go down. I guess I am too much of a simpleton.

Metric conversion,I just paid $6.40 AUS for a gallon of fuel, and our Refineries are less than 30 KLMS away.
3.55 is still cheap in comparison. smile.gif
Hate to own a Truck, as here it's around $7+ A GALLON, for Diesel.
