Should you execute someone for raping a child? Of course thats awful, but I think execution might be too extreme, but then I think about that little girl and I want to throw up.

Tebow link does not work
But to add my view i do believe in capital punishment especially for people who abuse/kill women and children, however only one innocent person need's to die before it all seems wrong.
Here in the uk we abolished capital punishment years ago as to many innocent people where killed.

But for the guilty scumbags i would gladly do the job myself.

Tebow, I agree that a situation like that is sickening. People that commit crimes like this are nothing more than animals and should be treated as such. While execution is a topic for debate, I do think that offenders like that should at the least be castrated.

I should imagine that the Supreme Court will make the final decision based on law and not emotions.

Tebow, I'm not sure if you're specifically referring to this case, but on NPR this morning I heard a segment about a stepfather who will go to trial and possibly the death penalty for the rape of his 8 yr. old stepdaughter. Apparently only five states have laws that say you can have capital punishment for raping a child, and Tennessee happens to be one of those states. It's causing quite a stir in the Supreme Court, I believe.

Oh, and castration isn't enough. There's other ways these people can abuse others sexually, and I don't think they should ever be given the chance to hurt another child.

It may sound old-fashioned, but "off with his head!"

Mr. President, here are three ways to insert a link into a post or into a reply:

http://www.thoughtvent.com/forums/How-to-I...Post-t1509.html

If you are using Firefox, you can use a handy plug-in BBCodeXtra for this and a ton of other useful modifications (Zarathustra would be lost without it).

I think this is the article that you wanted to be linked in your original post:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/04/15/rape.e...tml?eref=rss_us

Don't worry, you will soon get the hang of it. You can always practice in the Test and Scribbles Forum.
Hope this helps,
Zarathustra
