Well, I am a rather big fan of a few bits of Tool's work. Schism, in my mind, being one of the greatest songs ever created. If I could play that on guitar, I would feel all special biggrin.gif

Anyone else here like/know of their stuff?

Tools ok a little over rated but ok. Prison Sex is cool, the Lateralus CD has some good stuff on it. but maynard is far to vocal in his views for me to truly enjoy listening to a full CD

Agreed. I don't own a Tool CD - I just like their singles biggrin.gif A lot of their stuff has freaky "lachrymology" crap on it ((-) Ions comes to mind).
10,000 Days was a real lack of talent on their part. I think they should quit making CDs now (they should have stopped at Lateralus, but...).

Maynard was doing good with A perfect Circle, and lets not kid ourselves it was just another form of Tool like Damageplan was to Pantera, (Mir De Noms and 13th Step were awesome CDs) until he opened his mouth again and shot off a CD of Anti-War junk (that would be eMotive) the man needs to give in and accept that his views are holding back good music. Bring back my Bikini Bandits and quit shouting off about how bad America is.

Agreed - though I'm happy that there's, well, a musician that sings ABOUT something, I think Tool tends to go far. Aenema was, lyrically, one of the strongest, if not the strongest, song I've ever heard, but he does tend to push his views on some of the less popular songs. In addition, they're running out of stuff to sing (Vicarious and Stinkfist talk about pretty much the same thing - and Stinkfist is a lot cooler, btw).

But, I rediscovered Lateralus - I forgot how cool it was biggrin.gif

I like them, I have 2 of their cds, 10,000 days and Lateralus. Don't listen to them all that often, but I do enjoy the occasions that I do.
