The $1.26 million project, to be called The Henge, will include 101 granite stones arranged in an inner and outer circle, a central altar, and will span 110 feet.

Dubai gets the QE2, the US gets London Bridge, so it is only fair that Australia gets a Stonehenge.

Vicki - if we ever have the joy and delight of your presence "down under", just bear in mind that I am probably the best person to give you a guided tour of the new "Stonehenge" .why????... because most mornings when I wake up I'm certain that I was there during the original construction - or at least, my clicks and groans seem to signal that!!! Seriously, having visited the original several times, (and I have a photo transparency showing me holding up one the taller leaning stones) I'll be interested to see how the replica turns out - I hope he ensures the correct alignment for the solstices..... whistling.gif

Does this mean the center of the world will turn over?

Up is down and down will be up?

//Aside: I was on the Stonehenge site there when one could still roam about, climb on the stones, etc. 1968...
Actually, I drove past it the first time. Missed the very little sign. Wife had to turn me around. I blame it on having to drive on the wrong side of the road then. It's the Guy thing - never ask for directions...
