VICTORIA -- A third severed foot has washed up on a Gulf Island. All three are right feet, and all were in sneakers.

"It is unusual," RCMP Const. Annie Linteau said yesterday. "We are in the preliminary stages of this particular investigation, and, of course, we will not enter into speculation."

Jeff Dolen, B.C.'s assistant deputy chief coroner, said although it is somewhat common to find individual body parts, this is "the first instance of three such similar remains being discovered" in such proximity.

Ok, Which is it ? "unusual" or "somewhat common" . this gets about a 8 1/2 on my weird s***-o-meter laugh.gif

I would say that implies "unusual".

I guess asking for the three people missing their right foot to step forward won't be helpful.

Next they'll be asking someone to give them a "hand" to figure this all out?

Strange things are still afoot in British Columbia. So far there is no body of evidence to support foul play. Hopefully they'll get a leg up on this fairly soon. I'll try to keep an eye out for further developments 'cause I've got a gut feeling this may take a while yet.

It's surely ookey, to say the least. Somehow, no matter how hard I try, I can't imagine anything other than foul play - unless a bunch of sickies got together and decided to saw off their feet and toss them in our ocean here ... or perhaps some sickie decided to go grave digging for body parts as no parts have ever been listed as missing from cadavers.

I just can't imagine an accident that would sever only feet - but am hoping I'm wrong and it was just some horrible accident that occurred - but how odd that no one reported missing matches the DNA, etc.
