Well what do you think of importing humane reamins for exhibition to the public.
Did you see how wide the eyes were of the preteen kids visiting New Yorks recent artistic showing of dead people were? John |

I believe This is what John is refering to.
It is rather gross, especially when viewed as Art. This is more a display for an anatomy class. -------------------- 'No arsenal, no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women.'

It's being displayed at a Museum of Technology and Labor.
Either these, or similar, have been displayed here in the US, too. Seems like an excellent science and anatomy learning too. The people involved authorized their bodies to be used and displayed this way, presumably before they died. -------------------- |

Dear JohnWho, This is exactly the problem we are becoming aware of at this time: The bodies are not being donated and they are not being used for just science. I found them to be extremely fasinating also, but with the knowledge of them being executed political prisoners, and you should see the conditions under which they have been processed! They are being imported through California where legislation is being introduced to put a stop to this. Think about it--------- would you want to visit an art gallery at 11 years old and find your mom ripped apart so that we could see every single muscle, vien, nerve, and other part of her body? Now I do agree that if you want your body part of medical studies or to donate your organs, well that's your choice and that's perfectly okay. The problem lies in the lack of provable intention of the individual being displayed. I had a couple of medical student friend back in Omaha NB, who just loved showing me pictures of themselves with someone heart on their head, and other pictures that I will not describe. My point being that even if you document the donation of your body to science, you better be done with it, because your brain may just become a baseball. ( That's as graphic as I will get promise!) Thanks for your comment, John P.S. is it against the rules for me to direct my postings directly to you or others? |

I am really computer illiterate and because of my meds I have lost a lot of my ability to learn new things very well. Have to hit myself over the head with a hammer to get things to setle in nowadays. LOL If you could can you find the video presented by the 20/20 program Nov 15 2008, and put it here for others to see, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You, John |

Thanks for your comment, John That leads to an ethical question, that's for sure. I agree - there may be a problem here in that regard. QUOTE P.S. is it against the rules for me to direct my postings directly to you or others? No, it is not. In fact, using the "quote" feature pretty much does that. It shows that you are specifically responding directly to another member. If you check out the Forum Rules, you'll see though, that you shouldn't specifically attack the individual, though, although you certainly may criticize what the member is saying. Always agreeing with me is preferable. -------------------- |
