The new discovery "...could alter the prevailing notion that the Neolithic period was primitive and disconnected from later and more sophisticated stages of ancient Egypt."

I share the interest in Ancient Egypt; I think there is so much to be learned from its history.

I have always been interested in Egypt. Very interesting place.

*bursting not to say this* - *still trying not to say this* - Ok, I'm going to say this ...

Why are people surprised to find that early man was intelligent? I'm going to fall back on my religion again, God made man. Their brains have always been just as large and intelligent, they were just not as technically advanced as us. Or possibly were more intelligent, as we in all our vast superiority, have yet to figure out how they created the wonders of the world.

I don't think it is really about intelligence, but more about having the technology and social organization as early as they did. Certainly the cave paintings in Europe suggest they were capable of creating art many thousands of years before our earliest records, but there is without records, a huge "gap" we are still trying to fill in.

There was an intersting program on National Geographic last night about mysterious desert glass. It has even been found to have been used to create a scarab for one of King Tut's ceremonial necklaces. At first it was thought to be a semi-precious stone, but it turned out to be this desert glass caused by a meteor explosion above the desert

I would liked to know exactly how workman got those huge blocks to the top of the Pyramids, averaging two and a half ton each. Also how they managed to get those blocks in the Temples to sit up on top some 40 feet from ground level. Not only the Egytions, but the Incas with their huge monuments. The materials in most cases had to be transported great distances.Guess one day,it will be revealed.Easter Island and Stonehenge are another two.

Edit. Spelling.
