It seems to me that after last night, we will have no clue who is gonna be the Democratic nominee until the convention. There will be specualtion yada yada, but neither candidate will get the initial delegate margin necessary I don't believe. If thats the case, then the party(basically) will either have to decide or Hillary will win on the 2nd or 3rd round of votes because they will probably include Florida and Michigan by then.
Point is, if the party chooses, they have to pick who can win and thats Barack. Barack beats McCain handily while McCain prob beats Hillary narrowly. With all this going on, and the Dem party still sort of furthering that perception of weak and unorganized, you think its time that Al Gore get in? He probably wins hands down if he did and walks to the Presidency. Thoughts? |

Even if "the Hilldog," (as some kids in my school call her) gets more support in the primaries, I think you're absolutely right that she won't win the general election. A lot of democrats love her, but a lot of democrats hate her also. Even though I lead a little left, I'd vote for McCain before I vote for Clinton. She won't have as much support in the general election as she does in the primaries. Obama is someone that most Democrats can agree with, I think.
Regarding Al Gore: With so much controversy surrounding his "inconvenient truth," I doubt it would be so easy for him. I, personally, would never vote for Al Gore, because I think he's too focused on one thing. His whole presidency would be mostly dedicated to the enviornment, and while it is important, there are other duties he'd need to serve, and I feel like he would do those half-heartedly. |

Are you sure it wasn't "helldog"?
It could be that neither H or B will get enough delegates to be nominated the first round, and if so, then we can certainly enjoy the drama behind the closed doors of a smoke-filled room. At least the media will give the convention additional coverage because of the suspense. Gore is a man with a mission, and we should be grateful for his focus; I am sure that he will go down in history beside such men as Wilberforce. I seriously doubt, though, that Gore would even want to be President. Z -------------------- Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one should be silent.

I guess we have to also incorporate the "Bloomberg" factor. He said if Hillary wins, he runs, but if Barack wins, he won't. I think that says alot right there

If this plays out as you guys mention and the Dems go to the convention without a nominee and have to go to the backrooms, I have a hunch that the Obama supporters are going to be very disappointed. Billary will do anything to get that nomination and lets not forget that these are ruthless people who will stop at nothing to get what they want.
Just a hunch....I will be curious to see how it plays out. Anyone want to put a $5 on it? -------------------- The Constitution was not intended to limit the power of the people. It was intended to limit the power of the government.
