A couple years ago I made a batch of black bean soup that I thought was quite good. I got the recipe off the back of a can of black beans, but I can not remember the brand. I got the idea the other day to make another batch, but none of the various brands of black beans I found on the store shelves had that recipe. I don't believe I saved it anywhere, and was wondering if it sounds familiar to anyone.

It used 3 or more cans of black beans, I think I remember 2 or more cans of chicken both. (I do remember lots of cans to open). Some of the black beans were pureed in a blender along with a bottle of Salsa. The recipe also included onion, garlic and celery (sweated) plus chili powder. I'm sure a few other ingredients too.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? If so, can you post or point me to the recipe?

Thanks

Beans, beans, beans, a very musical fruit....

The more one eats the more one can play a toot.

A recipe is just that. A score to be interpreted to ones liking and beat.

Play with it my friend, you may come up with a better flavor, and join Julia, and all the other great cooks of the ?world.

Of course, publish such here so we might benefit?

That one from food network looks good. I did finally find the one I was thinking of. It is on the back of Progresso black beans. A copy is here.

At least you don't have to "bonk" them on the forehead and say.... "You could have had a V8"....
