As we all know, politicians & the media nearly annointed Hillary Clinton the next President, during the last several months. What a surprise Obama has turned out to be. Taking Ohio, then loosing by a marginal amount to Hillary, who was just two months ago, according to polling data, was to win NH in a big way.

Who here actually believes she won the primary, because she teared up, & women went to the polls for the "I feel sorry for her vote"? I believe women, since I am one of them, can relate to the frustration of taking on men, who have dominated the political world forever. But, I reallly don't believe many women are going to throw caution to the wind when it comes to this country & their childrens future. Yet, according to the polling data, again, women came out 47% for Hillary. I think Hillary knows she is in trouble. Obama is now tied with her in the national polls. It could go either way.

Bill Clinton made a remark that hit home base the other day, prior to the vote. He said to a public audiance that Obama's statements that he had "always' been against the invasion of Iraq, was nothing more than a fairy tale. Notably, it's very easy for Obama to make that statement, since he was not in the senate at the time. Obama is sitting in the easy chair on the Iraq debate. The Clintons know that most of Obama's supporters, are anti-Iraq war.

Is Hillary going to expound upon Obama's statement? For instance: Do you believe that she will come out & state that "if" Obama saw the same intelligence reports she saw, even though incorrect, & Obama was still against the invasion, that he would have been negligent as commander & chief? Of course, at the same time, she would exhonorating all of her bashing against President Bush.

How far will Hillary Clinton take this?

Any thoughts?

Well, we'll see where she takes this.

Hillary has been a fence sitter for as long as she has been in office. thats what about 5-6 years now? Where does she come up with the 35 years of expeience? Bill had the experience.

As to your question, I expect to see the sparks fly soooon!

I don't know where she comes up with 35 years experience either? Maybe she is counting the time Bill spent as govenor of Arkansas too?

I look for sparks to fly soon. As they did previously, the Clintons will say or do anything to get elected. Their message depends on who is in front of them at that moment and whatever direction the wind is blowing at the time. They blatantly lie and no one hardly ever calls them on it. What journalist has taken her to task on the 35 years experience? None that I have seen and nor will they. The Clintons have always gotten a free pass from the media.

In all honesty, of all the candidates running for President, Hillary Clinton scares me the most. I hate to think of this counrty with her in the Oval Office. There is another thread in this area talking about the worst president ever....Let Hillary Clinton get elected and we will have a new one to add to the top of that list.

I've lost a bit of respect for her recently. I still think she is a brillant mind, but she is too devisive and she is doing something that Bill never did while running - attacking the opponent. I believe that Barack is an authentic good, classy, intelligent individual. I believe that Hillary is Brillant, but not sure about her character(though she is unfairly attacked by the media, but she doesn't help the situation with her responses)

I watched her tear up online, and it was probably the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. I saw it as an obvious political ploy, not as a woman with heartfelt feelings. After all, how can someone without a soul have feelings? whistling.gif

Seriously, when she was talking about how hard it is to exercise and eat right, you know she was instantly targeting the women population. dry.gif

I felt like she was looking at me saying "Come join the dark side! Mwahahahaha!" (slight exaggeration for effect. hysterical.gif ) Thankfully, Obama=Luke Skywalker. And the light side always wins. thumbup.gif

This has been the conclusion to this mostly improper and unintelligent rant, I hope you enjoyed it.

(Sidenote: I heard a rumor that if she was Pres., then she might give Billy a Supreme Justice spot. dry.gif Any validity to those, or just a rumor? mellow.gif )

Good Day Everyone,

I am so frustrated this evening. I am supporting Senator John Edwards but he gets little notice on corporate media and we have become so accustomed to take our talking points from what we hear on the air waves that then spill over to the web. We are now talking about personalities rather than issues.

I agree with Senator Edwards when he says that we are in an epic battle with the status quo. Now being a black woman I am personally proud of Barack Obama because he looks like me. But, I am not so naive to believe that his black skin means he is going to best for my group (how would you explain Condi Rice?) I am not so naive to believe that just because Hillary Clinton is a woman that we share some sista-hood.

I agree with Senator Edwards when he says that this is an election not an auction. Hillary Clinton has rolled out an economic stimulus plan in the billions, she wants to borrow more money to put us more in debt. All these candidates democrats and republicans promising tax cuts rather it be for the working class or ownership class is like offering candy to children or more bluntly a bribe.

I hope that corporate media is not successful in fomenting racial tensions, gender bias, or class warfare.
With All Due Respect

Jo - unfortunately it seems that ALL political promotion is just that - bribery - of course always dressed up in "this is what we can do for you if you elect us..." this was very apparent throughout the Australian election campaigns, huge money promises ( mostly for things that should have been done as previously promised by the party in power but of course conveniently forgotten during their term of office ) and all this buttresed by a vicious personal attack campaign .... why the heck these darn politicians don't simply present us with a clean, straightforward plan on what they are actually going to do to address our major problems, concentrating on the real needs of the country instead of wasting enormous amounts of money smearing the opposition, I do not know. blink.gif

You just can't help getting cynical about these self-serving hypocrits - even the few decent ones seem to get caught up in the politically expedient ratrace. angry.gif

Quietmike,

This campaign season holds such promise and such pitfalls. On the one hand the improbable, the healing of our nation a new American identity one that consist of all Americans no hyphens thumbup2.gif On the other hand we just take political party sides and the politicians don't have to tell us any specifics they can just offers bribes like tax cuts and we continue in our decline into third world status.

John Edwards is my candidate, but I am ready for specifics now - I want to hear in layman terms with the power of the Presidency what tools will he use to break up the monopolies that exist for example; in the area of telecommunications that allows the Rupert Murdochs and corporations like General Electric that can own local tv stations, cable channels, newspapers, own sites like Facebook, etc. Because without a free press or we free?

Hillary Clinton says facts are troublesome things - I want to hear her answers to why if Universal Healthcare was so important to her and the democratic party then why 16 years ago when President Clinton was in office and the Democrats controlled both houses why didn't they fight for it regardless of the bad press. I want to hear her answers since she now feels our 'pain', does she think President Clinton should bear some responsibility for so-called un-intended results of NAFTA, the great big sucking sound (jobs leaving the country) I want to hear her answer and John McCain's answer to back in 1995 we were told that yes some un-skilled labor jobs would be lost but that re-training would be offered but now 16 years later without any shame these two people stand up and say that when they are President they will make re-training available.

Barack Obama is a great orator very inspiring but specifically how will he assimilate and use all the young people he has activated to turn his 'Yes We Can' into concrete policies/processes that generate jobs, and at the same time balance the budget (I interpret fiscal responsibility to mean balance budget).

John McCain and Mayor Rudy who are running for President Bush 3rd term, since we can't continue to send the same troops back over and over at what point are they planning to restart the draft and where will the money come from to pay for the continued offensive and pay for the tax cuts.

Mike Huckabee if he did sweep into the Presidency would he decide that we are no longer a secular society and declare that we are a Christian Nation (and their will be a test) laugh.gif
End of Rant

There seems to be a lot of Edwards supporters here so I just want to say one thing. I like Edwards but as you should know (and if you don't you need to watch the news more often) his wife is suffering from cancer with a small chance of survival. I fear that if his wife dies than he will have severe trouble dealing with than and leading the country at the same time.

Good Day guy from Colorodo,

I believe that John and Elizabeth addressed that issue fully, and I can't imagine that he would dishonor her by falling down.

Yeah, the gloves are off. I think this will tarnish Obama's image (real or projected) more than Hillary's, since we expect such from regular politicians. It is a shame that neither seems able to rise above it all.
