First Congratulations to the 16-0 Patriots. clapping.gif

Now you are standing one win from infamy an 3 from NFL immortality.
I feel the pressure on them is incredible. NOW they must win all 3 or they will be abused. To have lost 1 or 2 regular season games and enter the playoffs then win or lose ...well it's a great season. To go in undefeated and not take it all is almost unforgivable to the football world. Albeit still an awesome season, you know what I am saying. The Pressure is great !!
Miami still set the standard or benchmark" all the way."

I have to agree.
This kind of pressure, coupled with an aggressive opponent, could easily defeat them.

So far this year, we've played great under pressure. I think we'll fare well in the playoffs. If not, I look at it this way.....A team wins the superbowl every year. A team has never, until now, gone 16-0 in the regular season (Dolphins had a shorter season in '72 than the NFL does now).

Irreguardless of if we win the Super Bowl or not, we've set a lot of records this year that teams will be chasing for many years to come. It's a good year to be a Pats fan! thumbup.gif

EDIT: We've also got a first round bye and home field advantage through out the playoffs, too! thumbup2.gif

Well, there is only one game left for them to win now. Talk about REAL pressure (coupled with some justified self-confidence).

Absolytely pressure and more now. As you've said one more game. The team to beat the Giants . They barely beat them on Dec. 29 Both teams playing great ball. The Pats looking at 19-0,for NFL history, probably more important than winning the Super Bowl. The G Men with a win,not only get the Bowl glory, but will have beaten all the best teams to do so. Dallas, Indianapolis,Green Bay and New England. It should be an excelent game. Perhaps the best in recent years. I think the Vegas line of a 14 1/2 point Patriots favorite is a bit excessive.

I don't think Vegas is to far off (just a bit high, I've got the pats by 12). It'll be warm weather in AZ, perfect for passing, which is our strong point. Our runnning game has also improved by leaps and bounds this year too. The Giants won't be able to stop our Passing, and we'll control the clock by running the ball as needed. The Pats have already proven that they can stop the run (against Jags), stop the passing game and hold teams off in the red zone (held Chargers to 4 field goals, no touchdowns allowed).

While the Giants "almost" won against the Pats last time they met, the Pats still got the "W" in the win/loss column. The only thing that concerns me now is that Tom Brady is walking around in a cast and hasn't been made available to the media at the begining of practice......

It has the potential to be a good game, if the Giants can continue to play at the high level that they have in the last few games.

Otherwise, that 12 point Vegas line may be low.

Injuries, of course, can make a hugh difference, and we'll know at game time exactly what the status of many of the key players will be.

The team with the longest away game winning streak (Giants - 10) against the team with the longest single season winning streak (Patriots - 18). Worth watching just for that, even if one isn't a fan of either team.

It's not an enigma. My $ is on the Giants.

(Of course I thought the Packers would win at home too. SO!)

Not for nothing, the Giants area good team. I think that Eli has some "growing" to do as a QB...give him, say, 4-6 years and he'll be bar none top notch!

Until then, I'll stick with my Pats!

It should be an excellent contest. I've noticed the line has dropped down to 12. These Superbowls have a lot of blowouts. But I feel this game stays very close. That will also make it more interesting as all the playoffs this year were. I believe the largest margin of victory was 19 points with no favorite covering a spread.
I don't bet directly and I'm not condoning. But I will buy 3 boxes in pools.
I can't wait to eat all that food !!!!

When the Pats won against the Chargers, I emailed my boss and informed him that if the Pats won the SuperBowl, that I'll be calling in drunk on Monday and hungover the rest of the week!!!!! hysterical.gif

I'm hoping for a blowout-with the Pats on top of course!
