I was sitting in a doctor's office the other day, and it hit me. Modern medicine could destroy the human race.
Think about it. With each generation, more and more people are dependent on medication. Our immune systems are slowly weakening because survival of the fittest no longer applies. It may get to the point where modern medicine won't be able to pump out medications fast enough to battle new, violent epidemics caused from severely decayed immune systems. I'm not saying that everyone that needs medications for whatever need to die, so please don't take it that way. I'm just interested in your thoughts on the subject.

I think the Thoughtvent community should come together to do this. I feel like it would be fun.

I think this is the coolest thing ever.
Synaesthesia People with this condition have some strange wiring in their brains that make it so their senses cross-over. If they smell something, they may feel something, hear something, taste something, it depends on what your specific condition is. I've read stories where a child playing the piano sees colors while he plays, and a man can tell whether or not the food is cooked properly based on how it feels in his hand (he gets the feeling of something round in his hand when chicken isn't cooked properly, and he feels something pointy when it is cooked right). A lot of these people say that even given the chance, they wouldn't give it up. I just think it's an interesting concept to think about. Imagine being able to taste chocolate by just reading a word. All the taste with no calories! I think we're pretty close to being able to do stuff like this with modern technology. This would certainly make life interesting, wouldn't it? |
