The Royal Farce in Great Britain

Hello. By way of introduction I am republican, that seemingly rare Brit who wants Britain to dispense with its constitutional monarchy and unelected second chamber and become a modern fully democratic republic with an elected, purely ceremonial, Head of State whose extended family would not be bankrolled by the taxpayer. In my Britain the Honours System would be changed and the only people awarded medals would be soldiers for valour and public servants.
